Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Choose Your Character (“CYC”, “we”) collects through this website, why, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can.

What we collect

• When you join the list: your email address and, if you choose to give them, your first name and which pieces you’re interested in.
• Consent record: the time you joined, the wording you agreed to, which form you used, and a one-way hashed form of your IP address and your browser’s user-agent string, so we can show that consent was given.
• Campaign attribution: if you arrived through a tagged link (for example from Instagram), the campaign tags in that link and the referring site.
• Anonymous visit statistics: page views and button clicks counted against an identifier that is derived from your IP address and browser, is reset every day, and cannot be used to recognise you across days. We do not set advertising cookies or use cookies for this measurement.

How we use it

• To email you about the clothing drop (release news, pre-sale timing, first looks), future CYC releases, and wider Choose Your Character brand news, such as events and community.
• To understand which channels bring people to the site, so we spend less on the ones that don’t.
• To protect the signup form from abuse.

We rely on your consent for marketing email. You can withdraw it at any time.

Who processes it

Your details are stored in our database with our hosting provider and, for sending email, with our email platform (Klaviyo). These providers act on our instructions. We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it with other brands.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address while you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep only what we need to make sure you aren’t emailed again. Anonymous visit statistics are kept for up to 24 months.

Your choices and rights

• Every email includes an unsubscribe link that works immediately.
• You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by sending a direct message to @cycthenetwork on Instagram.
• Depending on where you live (for example the UK, EU or California), you may have additional rights, including the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Children

This list is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy we’ll update the date above, and tell subscribers by email if the change is significant.
